Swap package received!!

I really love everything! I sent out 1 swap package today, and got 1 in the mail. :)
This is everything all together.

There's a doll of the Wicked Witch of the East-obviously before the house fell on her. :)

Then there's a little plaque of Tick Tock from the Return to Oz!! He was one of my favorite characters. :)

Next up is a cute little box with Dorothy and Toto on it. :)

And look what was in the box!! A magnet with the yellow brick road and OZ, and Oz earrings!! I LOVE THESE!

And this might just be my favorite part. The Dorothy inspired purse. She put a note in my package saying that she was worried about the purse, and she's not much of a sewer. It's funny because I said the same thing about the house pillow I made. However, the purse is so nice! She did a wonderful job on it. :)

And this is one of the extras. I'm super excited about this too. I actually don't have this book, and it's a really old fun copy. :)

This whole swap was a wonderful experience for me. I had a wonderful swap partner. :)

My newest project. Button magnets! Great way to use pretty buttons. Plus, we have zero magnets. Now we have lots of fun ones using just buttons, magnets and Gorilla glue. :)

How did I do that so fast??

I'm officially done with my yeti!! He took me, I swear, what feels like 5 minutes. How did I do that so fast?
So, I used a different blue for the new yeti that will be going to his new home next week. Turns out, the yarn is obviously bigger, because his head seems to be twice as big as mine. Either way, I think he's super cute! I also had a slight meltdown this morning. I found that I ran out of white yarn!! So, I went to Wal-Mart, and guess what? They were out too! I bought the last 3 skeins the other day to start the yeti. I guess they didn't get anymore in. Well, I improvised and made the bottoms of his feet blue, so they look like little pads. I actually like it way better and might take mine apart to do the same! lol.
All in all, I love him. I think he's so fun, and I"m excited to send him off soon. I figured it would be alright to post him, because she already knows she's getting him. He's now spending some time with my yeti until he's sent off. :)

Wizard of Oz

My partner received her package from me in our swap. I'm so excited to see what she created for me too! I"ll post those as soon as I get them. Until then, I thought I would post what I made for her. :)
First up is the house I made. Sewing is not my #1 medium, so it was quite the challenge for me. I wanted the house to look a bit like sepia tones, and just have the color be the stockings and the ruby slippers. All in all, I'm proud of how it turned out. :)

She really like the mechanical heart that the wizard gave to the Tin Man. I think it turned out quite nice. She said that it was her favorite part. :)

What little girl didn't want her own pair of ruby slippers when they were growing up?! I know I did! Excuse my weird socks that I'm wearing with them. haha

A bracelet. Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!

And this is everything together! The extras were 2 packs of stickers, a wicked witch journal, a wicked witch bookmark and some striped legwarmers. I was actually looking for black and white striped socks for her to wear with the slippers, but I couldn't find any ANYWHERE!!! So, I settled for legwarmers. :)
I'm realy glad she liked everything. I definitely worked my tail off in this swap! Now, I just get to wait for her package. I'm so excited!!

Weird Randomness.

I got a random email on Craftster yesterday. It made my whole day today. It was a fellow crafter that fell in love with my giant yeti, and wants to do a personal swap. I'm so excited. Not only is this girl AMAZING, but after emailing with her, she's just so incredibly sweet. So, you should go check out her blog: http://alexz-creations.blogspot.com/
Plus, I've already finished part of her swap package, and it's of course the 1 she doesn't know about. But I really can't wait to post pictures as soon as I can! :)

This is my newest project. My mom sent me a huge box of old magazines and patterns and such. I found this pattern for a little lamb, and fell in love. I'm still not happy with his face though. I need to re-do yet again. But, I'm still quite proud of him. Thing is, his wool took me FOREEEEEVVVVEEERRRR.

I said this was a random post, right? This was my excitement for the day. My linguine and broccoli for dinner. I haven't had this in forever, but it was SOOOOO yummy. If anyone wants the recipe, it's super easy, and I can post it if anyone is interested.

I love packages!

When I came home from running errands today, I was greeted by a package sitting patiently at my doorstep. I know the package was patient because it's been sitting around for 7 months.
It was a package from my good friend, Jackie. She knows me very well, actually, too well. The package was a mixture of Christmas and wedding gifts. We got married in August, so again, it's been sitting around for a while. She wanted feedback on all the gifts, so I told her I would blog about it. :)
First up, this AMAZING scarf. Not only do I ADORE the pattern, but, it's cashmere. Last year for Christmas I got a cashmere sweater from her. From now on, I will always be excited to receive a package from her!

This next one is a wedding gift. See, ever since the GT Express infomercials, Jackie and I ejoy anything that's As Seen on TV related. Seriously, you can cook ANYTHING in this, according to the recipe booklet. And it all cooks in the microwave! haha!

This of course compliments the Pasta n' More. R.I.P. Billy Mays. But have no fear, because this comes with a bonus of the Mighty Gem-it. I can now bling out anything I need.

There was actually more chocolate than this, but I'm going to be honest, I ate it all. And it was delicious.

The 1 thing I didn't get a picture of was the box of "Gummy Boogers." My husband ate those while I gagged from just looking at the box.
All of that aside, I shall now get onto other, more crafty news. First, my logo is officially created for my Etsy store. I've also ordered business cards! Now, I get to play with the camera to figure out lighting and photography, and then I'm off to my brand new store!
I'm working on a couple projects. My mom sent me a box the other day, and it was full of old magazines. After looking through them, I found the CUTEST pattern for a crocheted lamb. I've been wanting a fun pattern for one too! So, I'm working on that. Next up after that is magnets. I'm going to be making magnets using some of my amazing antique buttons.
ANNNNNND.My swap partner should be receiving her package today. Then I can post all those on here too. :)
